Project architect

Johannes has been with SUSD since 2006, acting as project architect overseeing each development in the studio.

Prior to SUSD Johannes worked with Witherford Watson Mann Architects and Sergison Bates as well as for architectural practices in Hamburg, Munich, Dresden and Stockholm including Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau, one of Germany’s most respected bespoke furniture and interior design companies and the Swedish designer and architect Thomas Sandell.

Johannes thrives on working on projects varying in scale from the city to the chair. He has been involved in urban design studies and master planning for areas in the UK, Sweden, Germany, Austria and Spain, architectural projects that include large-scale residential developments, social housing, public buildings and spaces, office buildings and interiors to bespoke private houses, interior design, furniture design and privately funded art projects.

Johannes has a postgraduate Masters degree in architectural design at the Bartlett School of Architecture and he studied architecture and urban design at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg and at the Technical University in Stockholm. He has been awarded DAAD, Leonardo and Erasmus scholarships for his project work as well as winning prizes in architectural competitions in Germany, Italy and Denmark.
