Inspired by the former industrial use of the area, this project utilizes a redundant 1930’s water tower and transforms it into a dramatic building for a prominent UK designer.
The existing structure is retained and extended to create a spacious residence on the bank of the Grand Union Canal in West London.
The build took just three days as the design incorporated precise prefabricated panels, produced and finished by German contractor, Becker & Sohn. The use of prefabricated panels not only drastically reduced the construction time but also provided the building with high thermal efficiency.
The Water Tower was shortlisted for design et al – International Design and Architecture Awards 2014. See our Notice Board for further details.
