SUSD formed a joint venture with the Thames North Trust to develop the 1870’s building, St Paul’s United Reformed Church, situated off Westbourne Grove and required a complete redesign to make the property fit for purpose.
Particular attention was focused on retaining the buildings existing features at street level and the planning application consisted of dividing the existing property into two parts.
The first part, created the church community space, offices and an entire, new basement level. Click here to view the project.
The second part of the redevelopment focused on adding two high spec residential apartments at the second, third and fourth floors, one with a private roof terrace.
Careful space optimization was utilized and apartment 1 is a large three bedroom apartment situated on the second floor of the newly renovated church, with direct lift access and open plan living/dining/kitchen.
Apartment 2 is spread over the third and fourth floors with two large bedrooms. Also with direct lift access and a private terrace area off the large open plan living/dining/kitchen area. The loft contains the ensuite to the master bedroom, home to a large circular bathtub.
The development was completed in June 2013 and hailed as a huge success both on the Church’s side of the project and with the apartments sold within days of going on the market.
