Following on from the success of the Newton Road and Bathurst Street developments, SUSD embarked on its next Westminster, conservation protected project.
SUSD acquired the freehold of this house in autumn of 2013 and the top two floors (maisonette) with a view to a comprehensive refurbishment programme and extensive renovations to bring the property back to the standard of the rest of the Grade II listed terrace.
The scope of work included window refurbishment and full restoration of the original sash windows.
The exterior maintenance work stripped down the existing decorative cast iron features and re-painted them and the stucco paint work.
Reconfiguration of the kitchen so that all the kitchen functions were located on the south wall creating a good working space and affording a full view of the attractive original window and timber paneling to the back of the property.
Internal glazed doors were installed and the slim section steel frame glazed doors between the kitchen and living space, enhance the light at the centre of the scheme.
